Krause Sawyer Shares Design Trend Insight with Departures Magazine
June 18, 2018

Krause Sawyer is pleased to be featured in Departures' latest article "Why Are Hotels in Love With This Unusual Design Trend?" by Sean Flynn. As Flynn explores the functionality of fully-transparent glass walled bathrooms in hotels, Krause Sawyer weighs in on the design pros and cons of the emerging trend.
Tracey Sawyer, co-founder of Krause Sawyer, sheds light on the current hotel design landscape and the prevalence of the design feature throughout the article, noting, "Transparent bathrooms are certainly trending at the moment, with some brands more than others. There are definitely benefits to it when it comes to letting light in and making the room feel bigger."
Sawyer continues on the widespread embrace of the design trend: "Due to the fact that bathrooms sit away from the windows in most hotel rooms, a transparent bathroom allows for more light to flow through the space, and helps to make smaller rooms feel much bigger than they are. This is especially true in urban environments."
The Krause Sawyer team points to solutions for the privacy limitations of the trending design fad, noting, "The placement of openings, level of transparency within glass and windows, and additional drapery panels can provide for the required privacy."
