Kajsa Krause, co-founder of luxury boutique hospitality design firm, Krause Sawyer, shares some insight into her design process.
What types of projects excite you?
K/T: We would love to do a full scale resort, but honestly any project that has a good, creative, and professional team, one with great ideas and open minds – and a team that also has the expertise to execute really good design, ultimately creating incredible, one of a kind experiences.
What is your favorite color at the moment?
K: My favorite color at the moment is nude or powder pink.
What is your dream project?
K:Our dream project is something that further defines natural luxury while creating a resort experience.
If you could go back in time and tackle any project from the beginning, which would you choose?
K: If I could tackle any project throughout the course of history, I would be intrigued to take on Roman Empire Planning – a big challenge but one I would love to try.
Which region that you’ve not worked in would you like to?
K:I would love to work on a project in South East Asia.
If you could work with any past artist, who would it be?
K: If I had the chance to collaborate with any artists or group of artists, I would choose any of the early Impressionists – as they were indelibly redefining the traditional notion of art.
If you could have a drink (or 10) with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
If you could jam with any band, at any point in time, which would it be?
K:Foo Fighters – their energy is infectious.
If you could visit any structure or place throughout history, what would you visit?
K:I would travel back in time to visit the Forbidden City / Imperial Palace of the Ming Dynasty around the year 1400, surrounded by the hum of daily court life.
